Roundhay Park istrulybeautiful the whole year round. some really nice local pubs and is just a great place for a day out.
The lawns beside the lake are superb for picnicing on sunny Sunday afternoons. Lovely place to spend the afternoon, always think back to the great concerts I have seen here.

It has a place called the mansion on the grounds which is soon to be a restaurant. The playgrounds and equipment will not be supervised, and will rely on people acting responsibly.

The cafe is situated near the lake and it is great to to in and warm up with a nice hot chocolate and piece of cake or sit outside if it is hot and overlook the lake.The arena is a large area of flat grassland where you can play cricket, football or take the dog for a walk and get an ice cream. I have been going since I was a child and there is always lots to do.There is a large lake that you can walk all the way round, and feed the ducks and it looks a brilliant sight whether it is summer or winter. It's lovely.

I went to one (opera in the park) and it was a great event, with everyone sitting out with their picnics. If the playground or equipment is busy then people are asked to be patient to enable social distancing.

shame the cafe is expensive.

As one might expect, there's acres of space to walk the dog, run around in, play games or just explore; there are several very attractive more formal gardens; there's a children's playground, two lakes, bandstands, a folly, a Visitor's Centre, at least one cafe, etc etc. A very nice park indeed.

Lortherton Hall car park and grounds will reopen, but all other facilities (hall, Wildlife World, cafe, shops, toilets, playground) will remain closed. There's a cafe next to one of the lakes & a small museum & gift shop attached to the main house.

Could do with the mansion re-opening as a boozer again [not likely], but other than that great for walking, camping, trekking, swimming [if you dare] and even a nice boat ride if you fancy. A wonderful park to walk around with lakes, a playground, a little train to ride on & plants & pretty walks.
