Even more so with Metal Gear Solid 4 as it is a true PS3 exclusive I would like to say its not too late, but given Konami’s recent track record I fear MGS4 will be stranded on the PS3. The Japanese-based video game and the Sly Cooper-themed costume and trophy has sparked a renowned interest in the classic PlayStation 2 trilogy and PlayStation 3 sequel, and many fans are now looking back fondly on the series and clamouring for more Sly Cooper.

Okay, so there are a few platformers on this list. There aren’t as many crash and burn arcade style racers on the market as there once were, and I’ve always held up Jak X: Combat Racing as one of the best I’ve played.

They're all classics, though. HOWEVER I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the biggest nostalgia factor for me at least comes from those classic first-party franchises both new and old.

What also made the characters so great was that they played so differently from each other.

Where backwards compatibility has been missing on the PS4, remastering games can help them stand the test of time and also help with game preservation. The game was simply fun to play. The last few years have seen a rising trend in the number of video game companies releasing remastered or remakes of classic video games, many of which are platformers.

Not having an Infamous collection available on the PS4 seems like a missed opportunity. As a note, these are in no particular order and I’d be happy to see any of them come back in a meaningful way.

A man can wish that a mgs1-3 remake would happen.

They are on ps now if you have a good internet connection. That said, while I don’t particularly long for the days of driving the Mako however, the sequels hold up really well all the same.

Today I am a proud owner of all major platforms from my Switch to my Xbox to my PC, and having the variety is something I not only appreciate but cherish. The series is also one of my favorites. A remake in the same vein as Ratchet & Clank would be very much welcomed. Given that Ninja Theory is now owned by Microsoft, it’s unlikely we would ever see Enslaved on the PS4 in any capacity. Keeping that in mind makes me hopeful that any of these could end up being real, but I’d still consider them dreams at this point, with a few outliers. What I do think should happen is a re-imagining of avatars and profiles on PlayStation. So much, in fact, that I own both portable versions of the game released on the PSP and PS Vita respectively.

I could even see a re-working of the combat to include more skill-tree customisation for your character and sword, allowing for a greater level of depth to the gameplay beyond the classic hack-and-slash. Arguably the best MGS game, it stands as a peak in what the PS3 had to offer. I don’t consider 4 part of the main series.
